You Are What You Eat
video collaboration with Liv Garber
In this video, Liv and I were inspired by Warhol. By splicing Jenny Hval's eerie spoken poetry with videos showing the act of eating, we displayed the most intimate form of human filth. We allowed ourselves to explore the griminess of food and how it embodied the universal aspect of human need. By contrasting the grossness of food and ingestion to the elegance of makeup and style we pushed to help viewers question the rawness and animalistic qualities of human behavior.
